Black and Blue Quarter Horses News
Rachel Frolik and Miss Dainty Gray ( aka Gracie )
This is a note I received on July 3, 2010, from one of our satisfied customers:
"Hello Mr. Claude, it has been quite a while since I talked to you last. I figured I would give you an update on Gracie. She is doing amazing!! I got her back from training about two weeks ago. A good friend of mine, Lexus Simpson, put a nice barrel pattern on her from December to June. Right now I am trying to catch up to her. She is definitely a fast one! Her cow blood is coming out especially in her sharp turns. I have taken her to Foley a couple of times in order to give her some hauling experience and she has taken it all in stride. I plan to keep taking her to other arenas to get her used to hauling. We have not entered a show yet. Lexus suggested that I not run her too much too soon which will blow her up. So we are taking our time!"...
"I also wanted to thank you for producing such an awesome horse! I am very glad to have invested in her. Her demeanor, work, and confirmation have grown wonderfully. I feel honored to own an awesome horse from a great program!"
Thank you so much!
Sincerely, Rachel Frolik
Blue, Devin and Dylan
This is Devin and Dylan with one of their favorite horses, Fast Blue Fritz CL. We raised Blue on a pan of milk because his dam rejected him shortly after his birth. This picture was taken in May of 2010.
Dylan, Tiger and Devin
This is another one of Devin and Dylan's favorite animals. Tiger just showed up here as a kitten and stole the boys hearts. He stays in the barns and keeps all the rats and mice away. This picture was taken on
June 7, 2010.
TOUGH BEAVER SIX CL
Danielle Heil has begun to work with Beaver in April, 2010. She is very tall for a two year old and sure looks good under saddle.
Devin ( 7 Yrs . old ) and Dylan ( 3) with Fast Blue Fritz
This is a picture of our grandsons with a young colt which was rejected by its dam . We raised it on powdered milk and he is doing just fine . Devin and Dylan have been playing with him in one of our round pens .
Red Country Warrior
Michael Otero has been calf roping professionally the last two years on a gelding we raised named Red Country Warrior ( aka CL ) . Michael and CL have done real well in 2008 and so far in 2009 . In this picture they are in the practice pen here in Foley , Alabama .
IN 2010 MICHAEL SOLD CL TO TUF COOPER IN DECATUR, TEXAS.
I AM HOPING TO SEE THIS HORSE GO TO THE NFR THIS YEAR AND IN THE FUTURE !
This picture was taken in 2008 out in Ellenburg , Washington .
DYLAN JAMES SPIVEY
This is Dylan on the fence watching the new foal play .
Chief as a 3YO
This is a three year old stud that is more than seven eighths quarter horse. The Appaloosa color carries a long way down the line. I tell people that he was sired by a Dalmation (Ha!).
LITTLE CHIPS AND VIOLET
We sold a mare and her filly to Susan George in Wales in the U. K. this year (2008 ) . Sue and her husband operate a large livestock farm in the western region of their Country . They run about one hundred head of cattle and about 1,000 head of sheep on some very beautiful and rich land they own over there . You can read about their operation on their excellent website by going to www.rockfieldquarterhorses.com .
The picture shown here is of the mare and baby the day they were loaded up to begin their journey through Quarintine . They arrived in Wales sometime in October .
This is Violet romping in the pasture somewhere on the George farm
during the summer of 2009 .
Deena ( Daughter of P G Shogun and Little Chips )
Before we sent Little Chips to Sue George in Wales in the U K , we got our Vet to breed her with frozen semen from P G Shogun ( Gunner ) .
In June of 09 this filly was born at Sue's farm . It looks like it is one outstanding baby .
GUN FOUR FLASH ( Reg. # 4972593 )
This is one of the P G Shogun daughters that we own . This one was born on June 7, 2005 . She is as gentle as can be and broke to ride . What a nice mare she is . This mare has been running with Figure Four Fritz this spring and will hopefully bring us an outstanding foal in 2010 .
2008 FOALS
As of March 25th we have eight new foals . Six of them are out of Figure Four Fritz . We have four fillies and two horse colts sired by Fritz to date . In addition we have one red roan horse colt out of GB Cee Booger Red CL and a Fritz daughter . The other one is a bay filly out of a Fritz daughter and Black Warrior Rio CL . Most of them look like they will shed off to be blue roans .
Shown hear are two fillies out of Figure Four Fritz . The big one is out of Rainbow Sheila and the other one is out of Best Be Four Five . They are super fine in my opinion !
NOTE : ON MARCH THE 28TH WE LOST BOTH PAGOSA SNIPPY AND HER 08 FILLY DUE TO A VERY DIFFICULT DELIVERY . WE WILL REALLY MISS HER AS SHE WAS A VERY GOOD BROODMARE FOR US .
Devin and Dylan are on the fence looking at their new friend that we are raising on powdered milk . His mother rejected him and we got him on a bottle for a while , but now we have him drinking out of a bowl .
We are still trying to settle on a name for him .
2007 FOALS
As of March 14th we have eight babies on the ground . One horse colt and seven fillies . They look like they might all be roan except for one
which will be gray . Seven of them are out of GB CEE BOOGER RED CL . Most of the mamas will be bred back to Figure Four Fritz . About ten of our mares will be offered for sale at private treaty later this year when they are bred to Fritz . Keep checking back for pictures and more information .
FOALING TIME IS OVER FOR 2007 AND WE HAVE 17 QUARTER HORSE FOALS . MOST OF THEM ARE ROAN OR BLACK . THERE ARE 12 FILLIES AND 5 HORSE COLTS . THE ONE PICTURED HERE IS A BLUE ROAN QUARTER HORSE STUD COLT NAMED FOUR BLUE CANNONS CL OUT OF FOUR 976 AND GB CEE BOOGER RED CL . ( Look for him on our stallions Page )
FOUR THREE 076 aka OKIE
On September 1 , 2006 , Okie , one of our three year old mares , won 1st place in the Waldo Haythorn Reining Futurity held at Haythorn Land and Cattle Co. near Ogallala , Nebraska . She made a very good run and needless to say we were very pleased with the outcome !
She was ridden in three of the events by Tate Watkins who lives in Aline , Oklahoma with his wife Tally and their son Tavin . She was shown at halter by Rick Blackwell of Foley , Alabama .
There were twenty-eight contestants entered in the event and to come out on top was great !
Okie is one special horse !!!
She is pictured here with Claude and Carole Lipscomb .
There have been articles written in several horse publications since we got home . Some of them are listed as follows :
1 . Quarter Horse News in the October 15th issue .
2 . The WORKING HORSE ( www.wkghorse.com ) October 2006
3 . The WESTERN HORSEMAN December 2006
4 . PERSIMMON HILL
She is currently being ridden at home by Claude Lipscomb and Tori
Schlayer .
This picture was taken of Claude on Okie just a few hours after Okie had won the 2006 Waldo Haythorn Futurity .
PLEASE FIND YOUR DECEMBER 2006 ISSUE OF WESTERN HORSEMAN
AND LOOK AT THE ARTICLE ON HAYTHORN'S PRODUCTION AND REDUCTION SALE BEGINNING ON PAGE 26 . SOME OF OUR HORSES ARE FEATURED IN THERE .
Another shot of Claude and Okie against the beautiful western sky at dusk . How sweet it is to enjoy this type evening in western Nebraska .
Dylan
This is our grandson Dylan reaching for a horse just across the fence from him. He loves cattle and horses very much ! To him they are all called "bulls."
Dylan James Spivey ( L ) & Devin Scott Spivey ( R )
This is Dylan ( Left ) and Devin ( Right ) on June 14th, 2005, when we worked cattle.
They both love being around cattle and horses which makes Poppa
very happy !
2005 Foals
We have had three foals born in January of 2005. The first one is a buckskin filly out of Pagosa Snippy and Four Card born January 17th.
The second one was a horse colt out of Teddy's Pretty Skip and Four Card which we lost when he was five days old.
The third one is a red roan filly out of Miss Four and GB Cee Booger Red CL born January 26th. She is our first baby out of Booger and she is a dandy!...More to follow. 01/29/2005
In February we had four more quarter horse colts born. Four 092 Blue had a black or blue roan horse colt out of GB Cee Booger Red CL.
Ms Lady Four 017 had a bay horse colt out of Booger. This one may be a roan later. Black Widow Roberts had a blue roan or black filly out of Booger. The latest one is a gray Four card filly out of Miss Dainty Roberts. All of them are outstanding!
This is Pagosa Snippy with her buckskin Four Card filly on March 12th.
Believe me; this baby is as good as she looks at 54 days of age. Snippy is being held by Tori Schlayer.
Take a look at Miss Four 976's red roan filly out of GB Cee Booger Red CL. There are only a few put together this good.
2004 News
On July 9, 2004, our daughter Shannon and her husband Brandon had another baby boy. He certainly is a wonderful addition to our family!
Carole and I now have two cowboys to help raise. Dylan James Spivey is a fine boy just like his brother Devin Scott. He is happy most of the time and has a very bright smile.
2003 News
2002 proved to be a good year for us. We had 9 foals born, and 6 of those yearlings are still with us.
This year has also been fantastic...we currently have 13 weanlings on the property.
